More than 100 vendors are expected at the 26th annual Kent Parks Holiday Bazaar Dec. 4-5 at Kent Commons, 252 Fourth Ave. N.
The bazaar runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 4 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 5. Admission is $1. Children 12 and younger get in for free. Visitors are asked to bring a can of food for the Kent Food Bank.
The Kentridge Players present the musical “Little Women” opening Nov. 11 at the Kentridge Performing Arts Center, 12430 S.E. 208th St.
Whether they were at a city-sponsored party at Kent Commons or enjoying an afternoon outing with their dogs dressed in embarrassing costumes, people in Kent got out and had a hauntingly fun time! Honey vendor Mark Johns enjoyed his first Kent Holiday Craft Market so much that he’s coming back this year.
“It’s really well-attended,” said Johns, who found success at last year’s holiday market with his honeys and beeswax items. “There are a variety of vendors and a lot of really good crafts. It’s a real nice atmosphere with holiday music from a piano player and from singers. It’s one of our favorites, if not the favorite.”

Just a few months after Jumpin’ Josh Violette took up the guitar at age 8, he took the stage for the first time to play the blues at a Tacoma nightclub.
Violette, 12, of Des Moines, added the harmonica to his repertoire two years ago. He added the saxophone last year. But the guitar remains his primary instrument.

Roger McGuinn enjoyed his nine years as the lead singer for The Byrds. But he's loving life on the road as a solo artist even more.
"This is what I want to do," said McGuinn, in a phone interview Oct. 7 from a beach in Carlsbad, Calif., prior to a couple of weekend concerts in Malibu and San Luis Obispo.
