Kent celebrates Winterfest with tree lighting, parade | Photos

Residents participated in the holiday happenings at Town Square Plaza, Kent Station

It was a magical evening of music, fun, freebies, Santa, a parade and lights at the downtown Kent Winterfest Holiday Tree Lighting and Parade, according to the city of Kent Parks Department.

People showed up Saturday, Dec. 4 to enjoy the parade through Kent Station and historic downtown, to listen to high school bands and choirs and to watch the tree lighting at Town Square Plaza, 115 Second Ave. N., near West Smith Street. The lights will remain on display at the park throughout the holidays.

“All of us here at the City of Kent government would like to send a special thank you to our friends at Kent Station, Kent Downtown Partnership and the Kent Lions & Foundation Club for the partnership on this month of holiday happenings,” according to a city Facebook posting.
