Vargas’ exit shows no loyalty

I find it ironic that the Kent Reporter's announcement that Kent School District Superintendent Ed Vargas is quitting his post is buried on page 8 in the Oct. 10 edition.

I find it ironic that the Kent Reporter’s announcement that Kent School District Superintendent Ed Vargas is quitting his post is buried on page 8 in the Oct. 10 edition.

This announcement comes on the heels of newspaper’s reporting on Sept. 5 how the same Ed Vargas received a new $263,320 salary loaded with outrageous perquisites. How can this be?

At the risk of generalizing, these bureaucrats have no loyalty. How much time do the bureaucrats spend looking for their next job? What does Vargas’ abrupt leaving suggest about the Kent School District?
