The REAL reason Alaskan Viaduct is not a tunnel

With all of the recent publicity given to the prospects of removing the Alaska Viaduct on the Seattle waterfront, it makes me wonder about the honest reason it was not built before. However, there is a perfectly good reason NOT to build a tunnel down First Avenue in Seattle, but I’m curious why it has never been made public…money?

Seattle has soft soil underneath it that is capable of producing a highly destructive earthquake.

The fact must be faced, that a tunnel along First Avenue may well be the real trigger to start one, however, these facts ARE BEING IGNORED today and should be FULLY INVESTIGATED before attempting to create the hazard it could create. Best to be safe than sorry!

The quake could change Kent Valley into a lake, plus…

Please, no underhand dealings for money – facts are there if investigated. Where are the records of REALITY before the destruction and deaths? True, the Alaska Way viaduct “rattles” during earthquakes – what doesn’t?

Not too long ago, the public library on Fourth Avenue DID slide a few feet toward the water, but the tunnel on First Avenue could TRIGGER even the demise of Seattle.

Best to locate those records showing the Seattle Fault Zone that runs under Seattle right now.
