Shame on ShoWare

What a shock to open the Kent Reporter last Saturday morning to read (and see!) that the “Lingerie League comes to Kent.” Is that what taxpayers bargained for when they agreed (through their elected officials) to fund this center? Is there a Citizens Advisory board that has input into which programs are brought to this city-funded venue?

I thought about the lessons we were supposed to learn from World History class. Didn’t the Roman Emperors host the gladiatorial games in order to appease the masses? Give them what they want; appeal to their baser instincts! Bring on the lions!

I wonder if there are any “wardrobe malfunctions” during these games? Maybe a guest appearance from Janet Jackson? Who needs Super Bowl half-times? Just head down James Street with your buddies and get ready to have some sexist fun.
