Save the par 3 for future generations

My grandchildren from Seattle come to visit us, and one of the things we enjoy doing together, when they come, is putt-putt golf next to the par 3 course in Kent.

My grandchildren from Seattle come to visit us, and one of the things we enjoy doing together, when they come, is putt-putt golf next to the par 3 course in Kent.

I was once again reminded how disappointed we are by the decisions of the Kent City Council, Kent city officials and the city’s Land Use and Planning Board to rezone and sell the par 3 golf course.

It seems to me it would have been better to have never built the ShoWare Center – or maybe get rid of it – and save our beautiful open-space par 3 for our future generations to come.

Does Kent really need more apartments and commercial buildings? Take a look at the empty buildings and businesses in downtown Kent and Meeker Street.

We are concerned about air pollution, etc., and yet you want to remove the little green, open space we have left.

If there is anything that could be done to change your minds, I beg you to consider other options. Maybe those of you who have made this decision don’t have grandchildren to consider for the quality of life in their future.
