The proposed penalty for Mr. Gregory Aurdell Ross is hard to believe. Four years and six months for the needless deaths of Ms. Cormier and Ms. Stenseth is a crime in itself.
I understand that lawmakers in Olympia are responsible for writing these laws. Mr. Ross also should be charged with callous indifference. He knowingly used legal and illegal drugs before driving, he has an extensive criminal record, including lying to the police.
A more just sentence would be 25 to life. As for the lawmakers who wrote these unjust laws, they should get a hard 10 years.
