Kent schools: Teachers are paid well enough

The base salary for a public school teacher in the Kent School District ranges from $51,936 to $60,681, an average base salary of $59,495. This equates out to $79,326.67 for only three-quarters of the year. Teachers have summers off and are required to teach a child 180 days a school year.

It appears to me that Kent teachers are living very high on the hog and will be living in hog heaven with their 10 percent and 4.5 percent raises for the next two years.

My school taxes on my property amounts to about 53 percent each year or about $1,965 for 2018.

I ask what do I get for my tax dollars after the teachers received $1 billion statewide for higher salaries?
