Satwinder Kaur is a rising star. She is young, energetic, passionate, ambitious, hardworking and many other qualities we need in a Kent City Council member. If you haven’t looked into her candidacy then I would invite you to do so.
Kaur grew up in Kent and graduated from Kentridge High. Through tough times she worked two jobs while attending college and raising her son. Today, she is an MBA graduate from the University of Washington and works as a director of IT Service Delivery and Operations for a large IT firm.
Kaur is dedicated to Kent. She worked for the Kent City Council for two years, listening and addressing your concerns in the background. She is part of an impressive list of organizations working to continuously improve Kent. To name a few, she is a Green Kent Steward making sure our parks stay clean and a Kent Rotarian helping students provide much need food and supplies.
Kaur also has an impressive list of people endorsing her. Here are a few:
“Satwinder has already shown her leadership and organizational skills in listening to residents and taking action on their behalf. She walks the talk, serving others to help make Kent a safe, beautiful community. I wholeheartedly endorse her candidacy for Kent City Council.” – Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke
“There are not many people in Kent better prepared to serve on the City Council than Satwinder Kaur. I am excited that Satwinder has stepped forward to serve on the City Council. She will be an excellent representative for all of us. I encourage you to learn about her campaign and I hope you will join me in supporting her on your ballot this fall.” – Councilmember Dennis Higgins
Kaur knows the challenges facing Kent. From the upcoming fiscal cliff to safeguarding our neighborhoods. Balancing economic development, to making sure Kent continues to stay as a great place to raise a family.
I know I can speak for entire Kent when I say we need a leader who will listen to our concerns and work with us on making the right decisions. A leader who is local to Kent, understands local government and engaged in the community. Someone that is young yet experienced who can bring new ideas and leverage technology. Ultimately a person who is responsible to us. I can confidentially say that person is Satwinder Kaur. She is leaps beyond her opponents running for this seat.
Again, I ask you to look into Kaur’s candidacy if you haven’t already. She is running for Kent City Council Position 2, which is an open seat vacated by Jim Berrios.
