The Palin family has an uncompromising pro-life standard. Sarah gave birth to Trig, a Downs Syndrome baby and her 17-year-old daughter Bristol is bravely pregnant.
Vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her family have had personal criticism form the media and feminist groups. Is this a reaction of the collective grief, pain and guilt from personal involvement in the abortion of an unborn child?
When an issue triggers a repressed sensitive wound in a person, the initial reaction is can be anger.
The pro-life Palin family arouses repressed feelings in post-abortive parents, media members, counselors, health care professionals, politicians and others who promote abortion rights.
Pregnant women go through pre-natal tests. Some find out their unborn child may have Downs Syndrome. Eighty percent of the unborn Down Syndrome babies are aborted.
Also, if Bristol had aborted, Sarah would have lost her unborn grandchild and lost her daughter Bristol to silent, post-abortive suffering.
To reaffirm the value of the unborn does not condemn those who have experienced the pain of abortion. It’s an opportunity to reach out to all who have been wounded by abortion with love and compassion.
