Two days after the Fourth of July and my neighborhood still looks like a war zone.
The City Council and mayors continued their support for fireworks, even though all adjoining communities have wisely banned them, is at best misguided and at worse damn near criminal. Property damage, underage drinking to excess and the terrorization of our family pets seem to be OK with our elected officials as long as there are a few bucks to be made.
If they are so concerned about revenue coming into Kent, then why do they stubbornly refuse to allow marijuana production outlets and retail shops do business here? This would give people full-time jobs and generate taxes.
I welcome the council and mayor to actually come look at our neighborhoods during and after the Fourth and help with the cleanup.
