Daniels: the right choice for Kent School District

As a parent of Kent School District students since 2005, and a community member for slightly longer, I have been actively involved in various ways in the public schools in Kent for over 13 years.

I have always supported levies and bonds, and I will continue to do so even in difficult times because our students need ample resources and the state will not likely get it right in my lifetime without local funding to supplement. We need a board director like Denise Daniels who will also continue to support local levies!

In all these years, we have had many school board directors who have cared deeply about the public schools and the community. The best board directors have had an ear to the vocal community, listened to teachers and administration and made thoughtful decisions based on what was right for students, even if it didn’t make everyone in the community happy.

Right now, the Kent School District needs a director who will understand education from the classroom level, the family level, the community level and the administrative level. We need a director who represents the community of Kent School District in 2017. We need Denise Daniels: a former para-educator, a family and community liaison, and now the assistant director of Equity, Outreach and Engagement in Auburn School District.

I have been waiting for a candidate like Denise Daniels and I hope you will join me in casting your vote for her on, or before, Nov, 7. A candidate who represents the community and understands the education system and the needs of all our children.
