Just read Rank D. Reed’s letter to you about “Mayor’s comments not welcome,” about the roads’ condition after snowfall, and he may not know it, but he is lucky to have a road, with all that is going on.
We on Scenic Hill used to get the Metro bus right in front of the house, but there are no more Metro buses running anymore, and since I am a housebound, handicapped World War II veteran, the idea of transportation is “nil,” and I don’t mean “nil.”
Being a member of the local Disabled American Veterans. No social services, no VFW nor any access to local friends, even if it does not snow, I still have no rides I need.
I even wrote NASA in Washington, D.C., to see if they could loan a couple of rocket-space suits. They said they had none, and sent me photos of rockets instead, so Kent’s mayor and Mr. Reed are more fortunate than I am. But I’m 81 and still could use a lift or two, but, but, but…
Maybe Baghdad still has a flying carpet they could loan me … snow or rain, etc.
