A gunman recently entered a Texas church and killed numerous helpless people with his semi-auto rifle. A man who lives near the church and who happens to be an NRA member, saw what was happening, grabbed his lawfully-owned firearm from his residence and confronted the shooter outside the church. He was able to shoot him and stop the carnage. The wounded gunman entered his car and was able to drive away, but was found dead a short time later in the car.
Once again, gun-control advocates are demanding that more gun-control laws be put on the books. Their ultimate goal is to remove all guns from law-abiding Americans. It’s always about the gun and never the shooter with these people.
Well-documented studies show that firearms are used more than two million times a year for personal protection, and that the presence of a firearm, without a shot being fired, prevents crime in many instances in spite of what the advocates might falsely report.
Shooting can usually be justified only where crime constitutes an immediate, imminent threat to life, limb, or even property in some cases.
Gun haters have been attempting to weaken the Second Amendment at every opportunity and must be strongly opposed by law-abiding Americans who want to keep their guns and preserve the rights provided by this amendment.
The Second Amendment, hated and feared by many gun-control advocates, was written by James Madison and ratified by the House of Representatives on Dec. 15, 1791. This important amendment is the part of the Bill of Rights that protects the right to keep and bear arms and is still causing these people to lose sleep after more than 225 years.
