Updated story: Two charged with murder in fatal East Hill shooting

The King County Prosecutor's Office filed a first-degree murder charge Monday against a 22-year-old Kent man in connection with the shooting death of a 30-year-old Kent man Oct. 15 on the East Hill. The shooting occurred after a dispute over a drug deal, according to charging papers.

Flood walls go up Thursday at Renton sewer plant; plan is to protect Green River Valley

To protect public health and safety in the event of major flooding related to Howard Hanson Dam, King County employees will install and test flood walls Thursday, Oct. 22 at 12:30 p.m. at the South Treatment Plant in Renton. The project is part of the county’s work to actively prepare for flooding and safeguard its vital regional wastewater infrastructure in the Green River Valley.
