Public Issues Committee (PIC) Chair
Kent City Councilmember Bill Boyce has been elected to serve as chair of the Sound Cities Association’s Public Issues Committee for 2022.
Sound Cities helps King County cities act locally and partner regionally to create vital and thriving communities through advocacy, education, leadership, mutual support and networking. The Public Issues Committee is the policy-setting body for Sound Cities and is comprised of a representative from each of group’s 38 member cities. As chair, Boyce will also serve on the Board of Directors of Sound Cities.
Renton City Councilmember Ed Prince serves as president of Sound Cities and applauded Boyce’s election as committee chair.
”I have had the pleasure of working with Bill in my role as president of SCA and in my previous role as chair of PIC,” Prince said in a news release from Sound Cities and the city of Kent. “Bill has the respect of leaders across the region and will do a phenomenal job as the chair of PIC.”
Sound Cities Vice President Angela Birney, mayor of Redmond, voted in support of Boyce’s election as chair.
”Bill Boyce has been a valued voice on PIC for years,” Birney said. “I am excited to continue to work with him as PIC chair. His experience and leadership will be an asset to SCA and the region.”
Boyce is serving his third term on the Kent City Council. Before being elected to the council, Boyce served on the Kent School District Board of Directors for 16 years, he is a charter member and past president of the Kent Sunrise Rotary Club and he served as a commissioner of the Criminal Justice Training Center for 13 years. Boyce has been at Boeing for 33 years and works as a human resources leader.
