A sampling of Kent Police incidents April 9-28:

April 9

Uber carjacking: 1:18 a.m., patrol responded to Driftwood Apartments, 1600 W. James Pl., for a robbery. An Uber driver had arrived at the complex when he was flagged down by the suspect, whom he believed needed assistance. The victim rolled down his window, and the suspect grabbed him by the collar of his jacket and told him to get out of the car. As this occurred, a second suspect appeared. The victim was ordered to give them his wallet and phone, and the suspects fled in his vehicle.

Shotgun escort: 8:04 a.m., patrol responded to 12700 SE 261st Place for an assault. A male was waving around a shotgun and pointed it at his neighbor. The victim reported that her neighbor had been outside with a gun as she was leaving for work and pointed a shotgun at her, so she fled the area. Patrol located the suspect and arrested him. The suspect claimed he had been escorting his wife to her car with his shotgun.

Child abuse: 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3500 block of S. 239th Place for a child abuse report. A neighbor called in, stating a 9-year-old child was hit by his mother and sustained a black eye.
