Kent Police arrest woman after road rage incident in parking lot

Reportedly threatened another woman with a gun Jan. 14 at shopping center parking lot

Kent Police arrested a 27-year-old Kent woman after she reportedly threatened a vehicle driver with a gun during a road rage incident in a shopping center parking lot.

Officers responded at about 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14 to the 26300 block of 104th Avenue SE about a road rage incident with a gun, according to a Jan. 16 Kent Police news release.

A 28-year-old Kent woman driving a vehicle said she had been threatened with a gun after a vehicle had run a stop sign in the parking lot, almost hitting her vehicle, according to police. She decided to follow the vehicle through the parking lot until it stopped, and then contacted the passenger in the vehicle, the Kent woman, 27, and the driver, a 37-year-old Kent man.

The two women argued for a short time before the one woman pulled out what appeared to be a realistic handgun, racked the slide and pointed it facing the ground in the direction of the other woman, who then retreated to her vehicle and drove away. But she kept an eye on the other vehicle, which parked near one of the stores.

Multiple officers arrived, contacted the man and woman in the vehicle and detained them.

The woman was not forthcoming about the use of the gun during the incident, but officers immediately canvassed the area for video, and reportedly were able to locate evidence that the victim was being truthful.

Officers arrested the woman for investigation of harassment and booked her into the city jail. Officers searched the woman and reportedly found several small baggies of drugs from her jacket, according to police. They also reportedly located two 9mm bullets from her jacket.

The woman allegedly admitted that the drugs were methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, fentanyl, and powdered fentanyl.

Officers were granted a search warrant from a judge for the vehicle, where they reportedly found a gun and

the gun’s holster. The 9mm gun was determined to have been stolen in Sumner.
