Kent Police arrested a 24-year-old man on a state Department of Corrections warrant after an officer initially detained the man for reportedly urinating in public.
An officer on patrol at about midnight Tuesday, Jan. 9 in the 1300 block of West Meeker Street, just west of Washington Avenue North, saw a man with his pants down, urinating on a business, according to a Jan. 10 Kent Police news release. The man was next to a no trespassing sign hung on the wall near where he was standing.
An officer detained the man and subsequently determined he had a felony warrant from the state Department of Corrections for violation of a protection order in Auburn.
Police arrested the man without incident and transported him to the South Correctional Entity (SCORE jail) in Des Moines.
A search by an officer of the man prior to the arrest turned up a realistic looking plastic Glock-style handgun, according to police.
