DAY 3
It’s time to visit the sacred city of Kandy! There are a large number of architectural and cultural relics preserved here, demonstrating the long history of Sri Lanka’s architectural arts that date back 2,000 年. On our drive to Kandy, you will come across a spice garden where you can discover exotic tropical plants and are taught about their various health remedies.

Spending time at a spice garden is a fascinating educational experience if you like spices but don’t often see them growing wild. So why not take the chance to learn all about plants, herbs and spices in this lovely garden? Here you will gain a better understanding of the active ingredients and medicinal properties that plants have to offer and also pick up some ancient recipes for teas, infusions, creams and oils, which you can later purchase on site. After lunch, you can check in at Earls Regent Hotel.
Later on, you can set out to the Temple of the Tooth, a Buddhist temple located in the city of Kandy. The Temple of the Tooth is important to Buddhists as it is home to one of Buddha’s teeth and attending an evening puja at the Temple of the Tooth is a must. Every evening there is a ceremony during which the tooth is taken out of its case for devout Buddhists and visitors to see. Offerings of flowers are laid before the sacred tooth’s chamber and prayers fill the room.

When walking along the corridor and looking up at the ceiling, you can see the grand occasion of the annual Buddha’s Day Festival being depicted. Climbing up the wooden stairs to the second floor, you can spot flowers offered in front of the Buddha statue, which seems to bear believers’ hope for the good. You can also see pious Buddhists sitting on the floor and chanting lections. The chanting of lections pervades the tranquil Temple of the Sacred Tooth, which makes the feeling of piety and sanctity arise spontaneously.

After visiting the temple, you can continue to do some shopping in Kandy and call it a day.
DAY 4
Day four is dedicated to good food and shopping. You will have a hard time deciding what to pick! Foodies may enjoy delicious tropical fruits, fragrant curries or roti, a rustic flat bread made up of flour and grated coconut and served with spicy onion or chilli paste. Or why not bring home tea, essential oils and exotic handmade works of art from your trip?

Up next is a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens or Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Built in 1371 AD, the Botanical Garden acted as the Kings’ royal garden. Today, more than 4,000 plants, either native or imported, can be found in the garden. The tropical equatorial sunshine and Mediterranean climate of Kandy make the Botanic Garden look like spring year round. Feast your eyes on lush plants and blooming flowers everywhere.

If you visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, you will have ‘zero distance contact’ with these massive creatures. Built by the Sri Lanka Wildlife Authority in 1975, the orphanage was founded to care and protect the many orphaned unweaned wild elephants found wandering in and near the forests of Sri Lanka.

Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. Elephants living here receive kind and careful care from humans. They regularly eat, bathe and occasionally help to carry timber.

You can observe the bathing elephants from the broad river bank as the herd interacts socially, bathing and playing. Visitors to the park can view the care and daily routine of the elephants, such as bottle-feeding of elephant calves, feeding of all other elephants, and bathing in the Ma Oya River.

With half of the journey behind us, it’s time to see the most beautiful seascape of Sri Lanka! Let’s head to Galle, a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. Here you can check in to the Roman Beach Hotel in Hikkaduwa, go to sleep early and look forward to the adventures of the next day!
DAY 5
Galle is known for its beaches and ancient European-style castles, which are now listed on the World Heritage Site. The best way to explore this bygone city is to slow down and have a leisurely walk, experiencing the unspeakable beauty.

Take a leisurely stroll by the sea in the morning and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of Galle. In the afternoon, you can visit the fort of Galle, see the cultural heritage and enjoy the sunshine, beaches, coasts, and reefs. Take in the picturesque beauty of Galle. So romantic and so simple!
DAY 6
The beauty of Galle makes people linger. Relax and enjoy the last day in this seaside town! After breakfast, you can continue to stroll the beaches or stay in the hotel. Of course, you can also indulge and get a traditional massage nearby!

When night falls, why not enjoy a candlelight dinner by the pool? Alternatively, you can enjoy dinner on the beach.
