Born Lara Corinna Osborn May 27, 1969 at Multnomah Hospital in Portland, OR. She left us on Feb. 8, 2024 after a tragic accident at her home in Spokane a few days earlier. Her family is stunned and heartbroken. She moved to Kent, WA in 1973 where she attended Springbrook Elementary, Meeker Jr. High, and Kentridge High School, graduating in 1987. Her independent, creative nature manifested itself early, as she picked up the trombone in the 6th grade and finished with the elite Kentridge Stageband.

After high school, she trained and worked as a hairdresser, continuing on and off the rest of her life. She then started classes at Highline CC, before moving on to Seattle University, where she received a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education. Son Dyllon arrived in 1991. After marrying Darrin Haman in 1998, they relocated to Spokane, where she subbed in most of the school districts in the area before settling in as the Kindergarten teacher at Spokane Classical Christian School. She liked that age the best, as her students were blank slates, like one of her countless arts and crafts projects. Daughter McKenna arrived in 2010. She was happiest when spending time with her 2 kids, and working on her crafting projects for family and friends. She may have worked as a hairdresser and a teacher but her true vocation was as an artist. As a child she organized cat shows, cat weddings, birthday parties, etc. She wrote and printed a neighborhood newspaper “The Fulton Times” and serenaded the neighbors with Christmas carols and her trombone.

At Highline she took a couple of painting classes, and then unleashed a torrent of professional quality oils and watercolors. She taught herself sewing, quilting, framing, and especially cross-stitch combining them all into what can only be called works of art. Her creativity was boundless, and the last couple of years were a frenzy of projects. Survivors include her son, Dyllon Osborn of Kent, McKenna Haman of her home, ex- husband Darrin Haman of Spokane, brother Tristan, his wife Bridget and their 2 kids Alex and Emma of Seattle, and parents Richard and Christie Osborn of Kent.

A memorial service is planned for noon April 27 at the Three Crosses Church in Spokane, across the street from the VA Hospital.
