Rosamond “Rose” Jackson, beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and friend, passed away quickly, on March 12, 2024, 10 days before her 101st birthday. She was born and raised in the Holyoke, Massachusetts area. Rose met her husband, Joe Jackson, when he was stationed at Westover AFB. They embarked on their 74-year marriage on September 7, 1944. As an Air Force family, they relocated many times while raising their children, Bonnie and David. Rose stood by Joe through 3 wars and many remote assignments. Joe received the Medal of Honor from action in Vietnam, which resulted in more adventures for Joe and Rose. Despite the many moves Rose remained an avid gardener, serving as a Master Gardner for more than 20 years. They retired in Kent after 33 years in the Air Force and 12 years with Boeing. Her hobbies also included bowling (for over 60 years), crafts, needlework, and travel. Rose visited all 50 states and 26 foreign countries, accumulating many informative and entertaining stories about their travels and lives in Germany and Iran. She always remained devoted to her family and friends.<\/p>\n
