Ann Estelle (Kellogg) Dona, 91, passed away on January 30. Preceded in death by her husband Larry, she is survived by her four children, Gordon (Cynthia), Grant, Steve (Julie) and Ellen, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Born June 26, 1932, she graduated from Roosevelt High school in 1949, then from the 5 year Nursing program at UW (Magna Cum Laude) in 1954. In March of 1955 she married Dr. Lawrence Dona, and together they moved to Kent. Ann Spent 20 years away from nursing, raising their family, then returned to finish her nursing career at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. Together, Ann and Larry helped found the Kent Swim Club, they swam, sailed, skied, hiked, completed triathlons, running races, explored the world and rode together on their beloved tandem bicycle. After Larry’s death in 2002, Ann expanded into new areas. Teaching adult literacy, creating a book club and volunteering at the church Thrift Store. A stroke in 2016 left Ann needing some assistance, so she finished her days with her daughter Ellen in Minneapolis, MN. A family gathering will spread her ashes with Larry’s.
