Auburn Police arrested a 32-year-old man following an investigation into the shooting death of a 34-year-old woman.<\/p>\n
Officers were dispatched at approximately 2:44 p.m. Feb. 14 when a reporting party called regarding a woman who was found lying on the ground with at least one gunshot wound in her upper body and a bullet casing nearby.<\/p>\n
Twenty-six hours later on Feb. 15, police arrested Calvin Jackson, the ex-boyfriend of the woman and the father of her children.<\/p>\n
Arriving on the scene with the Valley Regional Fire Authority, officers determined the woman suffered “at least” one gunshot wound to the upper body.<\/p>\n
Officers and detectives interviewed multiple individuals and found multiple sources of surveillance footage of the incident, said Kolby Crossley, spokesperson for the Auburn Police Department.<\/p>\n
During an interview with the suspect, Jackson reportedly admitted to shooting the victim in her vehicle multiple times, according to Crossley.<\/p>\n
According to Crossley, the suspect drove the vehicle to the 3700 block of West Valley Highway North and removed her body from the vehicle, placing her in the bushes.<\/p>\n
Jackson has been charged with domestic violence murder in the first degree and his bail has been set at $5 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
