People donated lots of items for the annual Toys for Joy and Holiday Engine programs organized by Puget Sound Fire, Puget Sound Fire Fighters Local 1747 and the Kent Firefighters Foundation.<\/p>\n

The collection, distributed to children and families in need, included approximately 3,850 toys, 1,050 stuffed animals, 1,823 stocking stuffers, 19 bicycles, five scooters, $19,400 in monetary donations, 28,100 pounds of food and 33 resource\/gift baskets.<\/p>\n

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all who contributed to our Toys for Joy and Holiday Engine programs,” according to a Puget Sound Fire post on Facebook.<\/p>\n

Volunteers wrapped the gifts that were donated to Puget Sound Fire’s communities of Kent, Covington, Maple Valley, SeaTac, Tukwila and King County Fire Districts 37 and 43.<\/p>\n
