Kent Police arrested a 34-year-old transient man for investigation of felony harassment domestic violence after he allegedly threatened the father of his girlfriend with a machete.<\/p>\n
Officers responded at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 7 to the 21100 block of 91st Place South<\/a> to reports of a man with a machete in the woods, according to a Kent Police statement. The woods are near WinCo Foods.<\/p>\n The father of the man’s girlfriend and grandfather to the couple’s child, told officers he backed away from the man after he reportedly threatened him with a machete. The girlfriend’s father then called 911.<\/p>\n Multiple officers arrived to look for the man with the machete. The King County Sheriff’s Office Guardian One helicopter assisted. Officers located the man and took him into custody without incident, according to police.<\/p>\n The incident began when the father of the girlfriend approached the man looking for his daughter, according to police. The father and girlfriend were not injured.<\/p>\n The man with the machete told officers he had recently used fentanyl, so they had medics examine him.
