The Meeker Street Nerd Party returns Saturday, Feb. 25 to downtown Kent.

The culture of being a nerd is a culture of knowledge, according to Kent Downtown Partnership, organizer of the free event held for the first time in 2022. Kent downtown hosts a number of “cool nerd” businesses that embrace this unique culture and aren’t afraid to show it.

The Nerd Party, which will run from 3 to 7 p.m., promotes downtown local, small businesses by highlighting nerd culture in a street-wide event. Small businesses between Second Avenue and Fourth Avenue on West Meeker Street will host local makers, artists, and authors who specialize in nerd culture, science fiction, fantasy, horror — books, games, toys and more.

Although a free event, Kent Downtown Partnership requests a RSVP at downtownkentwa.com/events/.
