Residents can give Kent city parks staff input at two public meetings about development of the new East Hill North Community in the Panther Lake area.<\/p>\n

Staff wants to know what people want to see in the new park on 33 acres near 132nd Avenue SE and SE 216th <\/a>Street<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The site offers beautiful views of Mount Rainier plus it provides a critical connection to the Soos Creek Regional Trail.<\/p>\n

Phase 1 of this project includes parking, utilities, restroom, shelter, children’s play area with nature-based play, nature trails, and ecological restoration consisting of native meadows, forests, and wetlands.<\/p>\n

The City Council is asking the state Legislature for $2 million this session to help pay for the new park.<\/p>\n
