Puget Sound Fire and the Kent Firefighters Foundation are gearing up with toy and food drives to help families in need throughout the communities that it serves in Kent, Covington, Maple Valley and SeaTac.

Because of toy donations to Toys for Joy, and food donations to the Jerry Wood’s Holiday Engine, the firefighters are able to provide food and toys to families in need.

“So many families struggle during the holidays and with your help we can spread holiday cheer,” according to Puget Sound Fire.

All Puget Sound Fire stations are accepting new, unwrapped toys. For a list of stations, go to pugetsoundfire.org.

The Toys for Joy gift wrapping events also will return. Those will be at the 84th Avenue Business Center, 20811 84th Ave. S., in Kent. Reservations will be required and more information on dates and times will be available soon on the Puget Sound Fire website at pugetsoundfire.org.
