Kylee Choi of Murrieta, California, shot rounds of 74-71 to earn medalist honors over the 40-player field who competed in U.S. Women’s Open qualifying at Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent. <\/p>\n

Choi, just 15 years old, is currently ranked 25th in the American Junior Golf Association rankings. She claimed the lone qualifying spot on April 19 in the 36-hole qualifier, according to wagolf.org.<\/p>\n

Choi advances to the 77th U.S. Women’s Open Championship, which is June 2-5 at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Lauren Kim, of Canada, is the first alternate from this qualifier, while Jacqueline Bendrick of Mercer Island claimed the second alternate.<\/p>\n

Washington Golf is the local representative of the United States Golf Association (USGA) and conducted this qualifier for the 2022 U.S. Women’s Open Championship.<\/p>\n

To be eligible, golfers must have a Handicap Index of 2.4 or less, or be a professional.<\/p>\n

A record total of 1,874 entries, including 12 champions and 24 of the top 25 players in the world, have been accepted by the USGA for the 77th U.S. Women’s Open Championship Presented by ProMedica. T<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
