{"id":5692,"date":"2008-07-01T12:33:07","date_gmt":"2008-07-01T19:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/pedestrian-dies-in-hit-and-run-accident\/"},"modified":"2016-10-22T15:45:34","modified_gmt":"2016-10-22T22:45:34","slug":"pedestrian-dies-in-hit-and-run-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/pedestrian-dies-in-hit-and-run-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian dies in hit-and-run accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 22-year-old Renton man was struck and killed at about 11:30 p.m. June 27 while walking in the roadway of Des Moines Memorial Drive South.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred in the 9700 block, which is the Boulevard Park neighborhood of unincorporated King County.<\/p>\n<p>The man died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Responding deputies recognized the victim from a disturbance call involving two men less than a half hour earlier at the nearby Rascal\u2019s Casino, 9635 Des Moines Memorial Drive. Working with casino security, the deputies identified the other man involved in the casino disturbance as a 29-year-old Tukwila resident.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies went to the man\u2019s address, a Tukwila trailer park, and found a 1991 Toyota Previa minivan parked outside. The vehicle had body damage consistent with striking a pedestrian.<\/p>\n<p>The deputies eventually located the driver and arrested him on charges of Vehicular Homicide.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives are still investigating the case.
