Women’s football will return to the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent with the debut of the Seattle Thunder in the new X League.<\/p>\n

The Thunder will host the Denver Rush at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25. Tickets are on sale at accessoshowarecenter.com<\/a>. Tickets are $65 for field level, $45 for lower sideline, $35 for sideline, $30 for party zone, $25 for lower end zone and $15 for upper end zone.<\/p>\n

Seattle is scheduled for just one other regular season game when its plays Aug. 6 at the Chicago Blitz.<\/p>\n

Mike Ditka, a member of the NFL Hall of Fame and former Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints coach, is backing the eight-team league. It will feature 7-on-7 tackle football.<\/p>\n

X League’s mission is to make available America’s No.1 sport to an entire gender while providing an aspirational destination league to millions of future generation girls that want to play the sport of American football, according to the league’s website.<\/p>\n

In addition to Seattle, Denver and Chicago, the other teams include the Kansas City Force, Los Angeles Black Storm, Austin Sound, Atlanta Empire and Arizona Red Devils.<\/p>\n

Two league playoff games are scheduled for Aug. 27 at the ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n

The ShoWare Center has offered women’s football games most years since the city-owned arena opened in 2009. It started with the Seattle Mist in the Lingerie Football League which later changed its name to the Legends Football League.<\/p>\n
