{"id":51507,"date":"2021-09-01T14:11:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-01T21:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/life\/music4life-fundraiser-set-for-sept-19-to-benefit-kent-students\/"},"modified":"2021-09-01T14:11:00","modified_gmt":"2021-09-01T21:11:00","slug":"music4life-fundraiser-set-for-sept-19-to-benefit-kent-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/life\/music4life-fundraiser-set-for-sept-19-to-benefit-kent-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Music4life fundraiser set for Sept. 19 to benefit Kent students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fundraiser for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.music4life.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"link\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Music4life program<\/a> is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19 at Kent Lutheran Church, 336 Second Ave. S.<\/p>\n<p>The program provides free used instruments to students in the Kent School District.<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature cellists from the Auburn Symphony. Light refreshments will be provided and people can learn more about the program.<\/p>\n<p>Music4Life collects used musical instruments, pays to have them refurbished and then donates them to the Kent School District for students who aren&rsquo;t able to afford their own instrument.<\/p>\n<p>Research shows that children who participate in instrumental music activities do better in many ways.
