(1965 – 2018)

John Franz Feichtinger of La Conner, Washington, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, left us too soon.

Born in Seattle, John grew up in Ballard and Kent before he moved to his chosen home of the Skagit Valley. An unfailingly kind man, John’s love of nature grew from the forests and waters he dearly cherished, including recent explorations of the coastlines in Alaska, where he found incredible joy. With pockets full of friendship and dog treats, whether it was someone in need, a pool game, a cat to secretly friend, or a party with oysters, John was there.

John is survived by his daughter Megan, mother Ilona Saray, father Alfred (Virginia), sisters Deborah and Tana (Ray Petersen), former wife Sam, family across the US, Canada and Europe, and hundreds of dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to talk openly and honestly about depression. Donations in John’s memory can be made to NAMI or Arbor Day Foundation.
