Jim McClellan, 89, died Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Titusville. FL. Jim was born in Long Beach, California. He lived in California for 35 years, New Mexico for 7 years, Washington state for 46 years, and moved to Titusville, Florida two years ago.

Jim graduated from Talbot Theological Seminary in Los Angeles, CA in 1957 and served as a pastor for much of his life. He pastored churches in South Pasadena, CA, San Bernardino, CA and Kent, Washington. He was also Superintendent at the Brethren Navajo Mission in northwest New Mexico for 7 years. After retirement, Jim worked for Romac Industries in Seattle. He loved people and enjoyed visiting with them and hearing their stories. He loved hymns and gospel songs and delighted in singing in various choirs through the years. He sang baritone in the Talbot Quartet, a group that continued for more than 40 years to gather for musical reunions. He also very much enjoyed working with his hands and fixing things, which led him and Vivian into active service with SOWER Ministries (Servants On Wheels, Ever Ready) an RV helping ministry in which he also served as a chaplain for many years.

Vivian R. McClellan, 88, died Saturday, December 1, 2018 in Titusville, FL. Vivian was born in Whittier, California. She lived in California, Ohio, New Mexico and Washington state before moving to Titusville.

Vivian attended Biola Bible College in Los Angeles, CA and was joyful in serving as a pastor’s wife and missionary for much of her life. She was a kindergarten teacher who also taught and eagerly participated in ladies’ Bible studies for a number of years. Vivian really loved people and found great delight in mentoring, counseling and serving others. She was known for her generous, open-hearted hospitality and her talented creative writing. Vivian wrote and published several Christian novels and published a regular newspaper column of her poetry for several years. She was excited to participate with her husband in SOWER Ministries and traveled the US ministering in schools, camps and churches.

After 69 ½ years of marriage, Jim and Vivian were called Home to Heaven just four days apart. Though our hearts are torn with the sadness of our loss of both of our dear parents, we rejoice in the goodness of God in taking them so close to each other in time as He did. We know there is much rejoicing and celebration in Heaven and the promise and truth of this brings us joy.

Jim and Vivian are survived by their children, Cathy Drobnick and her husband John of Titusville, FL, Chuck McClellan and his wife Gayle of Pasco, WA, Nancy Hansen and her husband Rod of Hobart, WA, Barbara Farrell and her husband Michael of Auburn, Washington, and Dave McClellan and his wife Karen of Aurora, OH. They are also survived by Vivian’s brother, Howard Mayes and wife, Nancy of Warsaw, Indiana, and by Jim’s brother, Fred McClellan and wife Janis of Beaumont, CA. Both Jim and Vivian greatly delighted in all their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were preceded in death by one grandson and are survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

At this combined Celebration of Life service, we thank God for the fruitful and loving lives of our dear parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and we honor them for their faithful and steadfast devotion to each other, to their family and friends, and most of all, to their Lord and Savior.

The service will be at the Grace Brethren Church of Kent at 2:00 pm on January 12.
