Ralph Lawrence (Larry) Clements, born July 31, 1921 in Max, Nebraska to Gladys and Horace Clements, died peacefully in Kent, December 15, 2018. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marjory, of 67 years, in 2015.<\/p>\n

He grew up up on his family farm in Max, Nebraska and joined the United States Navy In November, 1939 where he spent four years on the battleship USS Colorado in the South Pacific as Electrician’s Mate First Class and two years on the USS Ajax in charge of the gyro compass shop.<\/p>\n

After the war, Larry made his home in Kent working at Smith Brothers Dairy, Canyon Mill Homes, and Strains Auto. After marrying Marjory in 1948, they successfully ran Larry Clements Construction Company, and built their long-time home where they lived for nearly six decades, and raised five children with love and devotion.<\/p>\n

Larry’s life centered around family, God, and his community. He was a Little League Coach, a member of the PTA, a member and president of the Kent School Board, and he was on the boards at Trinity Reformed Church, Kent Covenant Church, and New Heights Christian Church. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the campaign manager for State Representative, Norwood Cunningham. He was also an enthusiastic salmon fisherman at Neah Bay and Vancouver Island.<\/p>\n

Larry is survived by his sister, Grace (Clements) Greenslit, children, Glenn (wife, Cindy), Paul (wife, Charli), Tim (wife, Valerie), Lorri Peasley (husband, Kim), and Ron (wife, Rachel), along with 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
