{"id":32123,"date":"2017-12-22T08:30:00","date_gmt":"2017-12-22T16:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/letters\/money-well-spent-for-a-safe-piece-of-a-curb\/"},"modified":"2017-12-22T08:30:00","modified_gmt":"2017-12-22T16:30:00","slug":"money-well-spent-for-a-safe-piece-of-a-curb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/letters\/money-well-spent-for-a-safe-piece-of-a-curb\/","title":{"rendered":"Money well spent for a safe piece of a curb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On June 2, I sent out an email to the Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke with a few photographs of the James Street, with a request (for the city) to build a sidewalk.<\/p>\n<p>She responded within an hour, assuring that while they do not have enough money to install a complete sidewalk, they will build a 5-foot wide asphalt path with a modified curb by year&rsquo;s end.<\/p>\n<p>The new paved path was recently completed. Now I feel safe and enjoy walking daily on the new paved path.<\/p>\n<p>Special recognition and thanks goes to Mayor Cooke and her staff who kept up with their promise.<\/p>\n<p>Taxpayers dollars well spent, appreciate much.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8211; Noshir K.
