{"id":28826,"date":"2017-06-09T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-09T17:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/letters\/extra-requirements\/"},"modified":"2017-06-09T10:30:00","modified_gmt":"2017-06-09T17:30:00","slug":"extra-requirements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/letters\/extra-requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Extra requirements?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ever since Washington state put a ban on the culminating project as a high school graduation requirement, only some school districts in the state, including Kent, kept it and insists that it helps students with life after school.<\/p>\n<p>My question is, should the Kent School District take out the culminating project as a requirement and vote on having an alternative such as more involvement in the community?<\/p>\n<p>Most students here don&rsquo;t like the concept of the project and it doesn&rsquo;t prepare any students for the future.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, community service and making a resume were useful.
