Bert E. NorbergJune 6, 1912 \u2013 November 21, 2008Bert was born on June 6, 1912 in Uppsala, Sweden and passed peacefully on November 21 at the age of 96. Bert immigrated with his parents and siblings in the spring of 1916. They made their way to the Seattle area where he graduated in Cleveland High\u2019s class of 1930.He began a 41 year career with The Boeing Company in 1933. His love of dancing brought him and his wife Reathel together and they married on October 18, 1934. Their 74 years of marriage were full of love for each other and those around them. They enjoyed traveling during their 34 years of retirement, especially their time traveling between the Pacific Northwest and Arizona. They were also honored with the title of King and Queen of Cornucopia, Kent\u2019s street festival, in 2003.Bert was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; and his daughter, Patricia (Norberg) Russell. He is survived by his wife, Reathel,; his son William (Judy) Norberg; grandson Rusty (Ronda) Russell; granddaughters Cathy (Paul) Vierthaler, Juli (Stephen) Willert, Jean (Scott) Jones; five great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.A private celebration of his life will be held for his family and friends. Remembrances in his name may be made to the Kent His-torical Society or the American Cancer Society.<\/p>\n
