The Pacific Ballroom Dance Team will showcase May 30 and 31 its winning Latin and standard performances along with many other dances at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, located at 915 4th St. N.E. in Auburn.<\/p>\n
The nationally recognized youth dance team will perform rhythmic Latin numbers, energetic lindy hops, soft waltzes and romantic rumbas at the event. Included in the numbers will be the routines the team performed when it placed third and fifth in the nation this spring at the U.S. Dance Sport Championships in Provo, Ut.<\/p>\n
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. May 30 and 31. In addition, there will be a matinee at 2:30 p.m. May 31. Tickets are $15 for the evening performances and $10 for the matinee. Tickets are available online at www.pacificballroom.org.<\/p>\n
Pacific Ballroom Dance is the only youth formation ballroom dance company in the Pacific Northwest. This year, their talents attracted the attention of Ashley DelGrosso Costa, a professional dancer for the \u201cDancing with the Stars\u201d television show, who spent two weekends visiting and personally coaching the team.<\/p>\n
The non-profit organization provides youth ages 10-19 the opportunity to learn and perform a wide variety of ballroom dance styles while learning the importance of certain character traits and life skills. Members of the group come from Federal Way, Auburn, Des Moines, Tacoma, Seattle, Kent, Puyallup and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
