Kent Police arrested a 44-year-old man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he allegedly inappropriately touched a 40-year-old woman in a hot tub at the 24 Hour Fitness.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
A woman called 911 at about 1:46 a.m. on May 8 about the incident that had just happened inside the club, 12922 Kent Kangley Road, according to the police report.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The woman told officers that she was in the hot tub with her young daughter when the man came out of the women\u2019s locker room and entered the hot tub. He asked the woman if she spoke Spanish and she replied that she did. He reportedly sat down next to her and started to touch her thigh and butt with his hand before he moved his hand up her side and touched her breast area over her swimsuit.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The woman moved back and asked the man, \u201cWhy did you touch me?\u201d The man replied he was sick. The woman and her daughter left the hot tub to report the man to an employee. She also called 911.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
When police arrived, the man remained in the hot tub. The man told officers he was on medication that caused him problems with seeing so he walked through the women\u2019s locker room by mistake. He said he bumped into the woman in the hot tub but he denied he touched her.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
After officers took the man to the city jail, he told them, \u201cDo you know why I did that to that woman? Because my country in Iraq is at war.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Woman resists arrest at park<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Officers arrested a woman for investigation of resisting arrest after she reportedly struggled with police after she and others were spotted at West Fenwick Park after the park had closed.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n An officer on patrol saw three vehicles in the parking lot of the park at 3808 Reith Road at about 2:27 a.m. on May 6, according to the police report.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n When the officer pulled his SUV into the lot, several people came out of the park toward the vehicles. The officer called for another officer to assist because there were about seven or eight people.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n An officer talked to four females. One woman initially gave police a false name. When she gave her true name, officers found out she had a fourth-degree assault warrant out of Seattle. Two officers started to handcuff her for the warrant when she reportedly tensed up and pulled away from them. She said, \u201cI don\u2019t want to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Officers forced the woman to the ground and handcuffed her. Three other women and three men who were at the park were given warnings by the officers about being in the park after dark and were told they could leave. City parks are closed from dusk to dawn except for permitted events.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Man shoves man at pawn shop<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Police arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he allegedly pushed another man in the face at about 5 p.m. on May 6 inside the Pawn Pros, 125 Central Ave. N.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The man called 911 to report the assault, according to the police report. Both men were former employees of the store and knew each other. The one man apparently asked the other one if he still grew marijuana at his house because he was going to come over with a group and rob him.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n That upset the man who replied he had firearms at his home and he would use them if the other man showed up at his property. The man who asked about the marijuana then got up in the man\u2019s face and shoved him before a store employee broke up the tussle.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Man breaks candle holder<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Officers arrested a man for investigation of third-degree malicious mischief after he reportedly broke a glass candle holder during a dispute with his girlfriend at about 3:58 a.m. on May 7 at a home in the 700 block of Third Avenue South.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The girlfriend told officers they both had been out drinking at a family party and that her boyfriend came into the bedroom and forced her out of bed, according to the police report.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n While the two were in the living room, the boyfriend punched a glass candle holder and broke it. He also threw a garbage can across the room.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Police took the man to jail but later released him when the girlfriend said she didn\u2019t want to press charges.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Man fires shots into the air<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Officers arrested a man for investigation of reckless endangerment after he allegedly fired shots into the air at about 9:34 p.m. on May 8 while walking near 108th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 240th Street.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Numerous people called 911 to report gunshots being fired, according to the police report. Officers arrived and found a man near McDonald\u2019s. The man had been firing shots into the air while walking up and down 108th Avenue and screaming about his brother.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Police found no victims or damage from the gunshots. Several shell casings and a handgun were recovered near the shooting scene.
