{"id":9914,"date":"2014-10-13T16:22:00","date_gmt":"2014-10-13T23:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/t-birds-pick-up-defenseman-in-trade-whl\/"},"modified":"2016-10-22T15:40:25","modified_gmt":"2016-10-22T22:40:25","slug":"t-birds-pick-up-defenseman-in-trade-whl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/t-birds-pick-up-defenseman-in-trade-whl\/","title":{"rendered":"T-Birds pick up defenseman in trade | WHL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p><strong>For the Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The Seattle Thunderbirds have acquired defenseman Scott Allan from the Medicine Hat Tigers for a fifth-round selection in the 2016 Bantam Draft, general manager Russ Farwell announced today.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>&#8220;We are down to five defensemen heading into a very busy time in our schedule,&#8221; Farwell said. &#8220;We feel there is huge potential with Scott and look forward to adding him to our team.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Allan, from Thornton, Colo., has played in three games with the Tigers this season and has not registered a point. In his rookie season last year Allan played in 34 games and had no points with 24 penalty minutes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The T-Birds host the Spokane Chiefs on the first Directors Mortgage 2-for-Tuesday of the season at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at the ShoWare Center.
