Get on out to Lake Meridian Park in Kent to celebrate America’s birthday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The fun begins at noon and continues until 10:30 p.m. on Friday at the city park, 14800 S.E. 272nd St.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The free event features family entertainment, including live music, children\u2019s activities, food and drinks and culminates with a classic fireworks display.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a pleasure to host the Splash at Lake Meridian Park for what has become a great community tradition,\u201d said Kent Parks\u2019 Cultural Programs Coordinator Mark Hendrickson. \u201cIt remains a great family event and a fantastic venue to celebrate Independence Day.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Hendrickson says Splash attendees will be treated to a continuous day of stage entertainment starting at 12:15 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The fireworks display starts at 10 p.m. Sponsored by the city\u2019s Parks Department and the Lake Meridian Community Association, the show is approximately 20 minutes long.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Off-site parking and free shuttle bus service begins at noon and continues approximately every 20 minutes to and from Lake Meridian.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Follow event parking signs to Fire Station No. 75, 15635 SE 272nd St.; Kentwood High School, 25800 164th Ave. S.E; and Meridian Elementary School, 25621 140th Ave. S.E.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
