Shea Theodore put the T-Birds in front 3-0 at 14:51 of the second period with an unassisted goal. The Americans attempted to clear the puck from behind their net up the left boards. Theodore intercepted the clearing attempt, skated into the left circle, and with Lispbergs screening the goalie, snapped a wrist shot over Comrie’s glove, off the cross bar and into the net.

Seattle outshot Tri-City 12-8 in the second period and led 29-16 in total shots after two periods.
