Kent city officials reopened all roadways to traffic as of 3 p.m. Monday, according to Kent Police.<\/p>\n

Road crews had closed Southeast 240th Street, also known as the James Street hill, late Monday morning because of hazardous snow and ice conditions.<\/p>\n

Crews closed the street between Central Avenue North and 98th Avenue Southeast.<\/p>\n

City officials also had closed Southeast 208th Street between 96th Avenue South and 92nd Avenue South early Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Sand and de-icer crews are out maintaining safe travel conditions, said Kent Police Lt. Pat Lowery.<\/p>\n

But with temperature’s dropping and snow falling intermittently, residents are encouraged to stay off the roads, Lowery said.<\/p>\n

The winter storm warning continues until 10 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n

As much as 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected to accumulate by Monday night. Low temperatures are predicted to be about 22 degrees. A north wind could reach 25 to 35 mph tonight.<\/p>\n

Forecasters expect Tuesday to be sunny with a high of 29 degrees and a low of 18. Temperatures on Wednesday are predicted to be 34 for the high and 29 for the low with a chance of rain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
