Keiser sponsors page in Olympia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>Last week, Thomas Jefferson High School sophomore participated in the Senate Page Program in Olympia.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Sponsored by Sen. Karen Keiser, D-Kent, the two were able to have lunch one day, and discuss the week&#8217;s Senate activities.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>&#8220;I am so glad Naseem took the time to come to Olympia this week,&#8221; Keiser said, &#8220;he is very smart and a great example of the talent we need in Washington State in the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Tirhi doesn&#8217;t plan on going into politics in the future but found the experience as a page interesting, especially the mock hearing they do in page school. The students pick a topic, write bills and debate and vote on them just as the legislators do in committee.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>In addition to playing football and participating in track, Tirhi, 16, is also taking a robotics class at his school, offered for the first time this year.
