A woman reportedly threatened to stab customers at Kent Bowl if they didn’t give her a cigarette.

Kent officers responded on July 2 to the bowling center, 1234 Central Ave. N., after a call about the woman, according to the police report.

Man caught in stolen Honda

Police arrested a man for investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle after an officer spotted the man driving a black Honda CRV with no front license plate at about 11:29 p.m. on July 3 near Pacific Highway South and South 272nd Street.

The officer started to follow the Honda northbound on Pacific Highway South, according to the police report. The vehicle had a rear license plate. A report about the plate showed the vehicle had been stolen in Tukwila. The officer had two other Kent units and a Des Moines Police officer assist in pulling the Honda over in the 26000 block of Pacific Highway South at the Shell station.

The driver told police a friend had given him the vehicle to use. The Honda had a Toyota key jammed in the ignition. Police read the VIN (vehicle identification number) on the vehicle and found out the Honda had actually been stolen June 28 in Seattle from a Kent man.

The driver initially gave officers a false name. Police found meth in the man’s pants pockets. The man claimed the pants he was wearing didn’t belong to him.

Officers cited four people for trespassing after they were found at the picnic pavilion at about 4:13 a.m. on July 1 at Lake Meridian Park, 27103 148th Ave. SE.

Officers responded to a report about people doing drugs and playing loud music at the park, which is closed dusk until dawn, according to the police report. Two men were using a torch to light something on the table when police approached them. The two men had marijuana pipes and marijuana in a bowl on the table.

Police also found a tin box on the table with 20 syringes, a metal spoon and cotton balls. The officer noted those are items used to inject heroin. All four people denied owning the box.

One man told police that marijuana was legal to possess. The officer replied it is legal to possess marijuana but illegal to smoke it in a public place, such as a city park.
