Mathew Barzal had two goals to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 3-1 Game 2 win over the Everett Silvertips on Sunday night at the ShoWare Center, evening their second-round WHL playoff series.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The best-of-seven series shifts to Everett for Games 3 and 4 at Xfinity Arena. Game 3 is 7:05 p.m.Wednesday and Game 4 is 7:35 p.m. Friday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle took a 1-0 lead on Barzal’s first goal of the playoffs at the 10-minute mark of the first period. Scott Eansor carried the puck into the Everett after coming out of the penalty box. Eansor passed the puck to Barzal coming off the bench. Barzal skated from the right circle to the left circle. Barzal took a backhand shot from the left faceoff dot that beat Everett goalie Carter Hart.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett tied the game 1-1 at 14:21 of the second period on a power-play goal from Cole MacDonald.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Barzal struck at 4:32 of the third period to put the T-Birds up 2-1. Barzal carried the puck from the left corner up the left wall. He crossed the ice inside the blue to the right point where he stopped and cut the back towards the high slot. Barzal had time and put a wrist shot on goal with Andreas Schumacher screening Hart. Barzal’s shot found the top right corner of the net.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Silvertips pulled Hart with 2:13 left in the game for an extra attacker. The T-Birds blocked several shots as the Silvertips had the T-Birds hemmed in.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Keegan Kolesar was able to get a loose puck along the right boards and chip it up ice. Kolesar skated hard after the puck and outraced an Everett defenseman. Kolesar whipped the puck on net from the hash marks along the wall and hit the empty net.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle outshot Everett 9-7 in the third period and 33-24 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle goalie Landon Bow stopped 23 of 24 shots to get the win.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Hart made 30 saves on 32 shots in the loss.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The win means the T-Birds will host Game 5 of the series at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. Single-game tickets for Game 5 go on sale at noon Monday. Tickets may be purchased on the T-Birds website<\/a> and at the ShoWare Center box office. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday game days at noon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Fans who purchase 10 tickets for $180 will also receive two free tickets. The Game 5 group special is available online<\/a> or by calling the T-Birds at 253-239-PUCK (7825).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
