Several local churches in the Kent and Covington area \u2013 Holy Spirit Catholic Parish, Kent Covenant Church, Zion Lutheran Church, Faith Baptist Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Kent Stake) \u2013 on Sept. 14 will commemorate the Sept. 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance (NDOSR), which was enacted into law by Congress in 2009.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The NDOSR has its roots in the 9\/11 nonprofit organization, MyGoodDeed, which has had widespread support by the 9\/11 community and leading national service organizations. The intent for NDOSR is to commemorate the events of the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on America by coming together in united service in our communities in the same inspiring way so many did in New York City in 2001.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

These local Kent\/Covington churches have organized around the following events, some of which are open to the public (all events will take place on Sept. 14):<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
