Karen Keiser, D-Kent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>&#8220;Alexis is curious and has a sincere drive to learn,&#8221; Keiser said. &#8220;It is so encouraging to see students like Alexis take such an interest in Washington issues.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Bates said that she was fascinated by the bill process and would like to learn a more about it.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve enjoyed being a page so much,&#8221; she added, &#8220;I wish I could do it again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Bates plays soccer, basketball and softball at school. She says between her sports, school and homework she doesn&#8217;t have a lot of free time, but when she does she spends it hanging out with her friends.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alexis Bates served as a page recently in the Washington State Senate in Olympia.
